Folk Dance Club Kaleidoscope

The Multiculture Center Kaleidoscope supports innovative teaching through its flagship project, the Folk Dance Club Kaleidoscope. This program is designed to give children and youth meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and perform while embracing cultural traditions.

The Center provides scholarships and grants so that talented students and those from low-income families can participate, ensuring access for all. In addition, MCK builds partnerships with universities, schools, city agencies, and local leaders to create joint projects that connect our students with the broader community.

At its core, the Folk Dance Club Kaleidoscope is more than a dance school, it is a platform that opens doors, nurtures potential, and helps young people discover their place in culture and society.

Dance Under the Sky

Our annual street festival brings together over 20 dance groups to celebrate folk traditions and diversity in South Brooklyn. Families, schools, and communities gather to enjoy vibrant performances and cultural exchange in an open, welcoming atmosphere.

This multicultural event showcases a variety of folk dances and live music from around the world, highlighting the beauty of different cultures coming together on one stage.

Folk Moves Everywhere

This program brings pop up folk dance performances and workshops to NYC parks and other public spaces. By making dance accessible outdoors, we highlight the diversity of our city and bring joy to communities of all ages.

Events take place in some of New York’s most iconic locations from the One World Trade Center to the Coney Island Boardwalk, Washington Square Park, Central Park, and Battery Park. Each performance turns everyday spaces into vibrant stages, where traditions from around the world come alive through dance and music.

Through this program, we create opportunities for cultural exchange, intergenerational connection, and community pride, showing that folk dance truly belongs everywhere.

Summer Camp

Our immersive summer camp takes children outside of New York City to a setting where they can learn folk dances, explore new skills, and enjoy recreational activities in nature. Beyond dance, the camp encourages children to try new experiences, build independence, and discover their strengths.

In a fun, family-like environment, campers grow through teamwork, cultural appreciation, and shared adventure. Each day blends structured learning with play and exploration, helping children return home more confident, connected, and inspired.

Afterschool Program (Dance in Schools)

We are a DOE vendor providing folk dance and cultural programs in New York City public schools. Through our afterschool programs, students learn traditional dances from around the world, gaining confidence, teamwork skills, and cultural appreciation.

Each program ends with public showcases at school events and with student participation in the NYC Dance Parade, giving young dancers the chance to perform for the wider community.
